Glock Magazine Extensions - Arredondo is one of the main players in the competitive shooting world. With a wide variety of accessories and spare parts for rifles, pistols and pistols, they have something for everyone. In my search for the perfect magazine extension, Arredondo is the obvious choice. Are the results exaggerated?
Installing these plugins is one of the easiest methods available in the market. Remove the OEM Base magazine spring panel and followers from your Glock magazine. Move the followers to additional energy sources from Arredondo, then insert it into the magazine. Then slide the plastic extension sleeve over the mesh with the bevel cut aligned with the top of the magazine. Finally, compress the magazine spring with the base panel until it clicks into place.

If you need to remove the Arredondo extension, add a plastic disconnect tool. This is to attach the base panel to remove it from the extension sleeve. If nothing else, the device is easily replaceable.

Arredondo extensions are low profile and simple. Both corners are smooth and flat, and there is a slight bevel at the top. The bottom panel has some review functionality at the bottom to give it some flair. The Glock magazine with these extensions comes in at 3.4 ounces empty, which is the lightest magazine I have ever found. Arredondo extensions work with Magpul mags along with larger competition-oriented models. The capacity is 5.6+ which gives 23 rounds of 9mm in the G17. Length is in demand for USPSA parts such as Carry Optics and Limited.
Arredondo is one of the few plugins I have hidden. I attached it to the Bawidamann Uber CC Vertical. This configuration is used for several days during the winter in Las Vegas. Walking about 10 miles a day, both indoors and outdoors, I had no issues with comfort or concealment. The extra length and control is noticeable compared to the skin, and the light weight helps keep the magazine tight to the body.
Each magazine extension had to endure a drop test before my belt could be trusted. The parameters are simple. Each magazine is fully loaded, then dropped five times from shoulder height onto the concrete. The mags drop right on the inside and seem to fall out of the pistol. Arredondo survived all five drops with minimal hits in control.
This plugin is one of my main journals throughout 2019 and early 2020. See regular use of USPSA, Shooter Symposium, Rangemaster Instructor Development Course, and Citizen Defense Handgun Tests and Standards. This development has endured in various weather conditions and environments, from rain to fire and sand. During shooting, the Arredondo extension performed nearly flawlessly through 1,200 rounds.

The only confusion I encountered was due to the light weight of the extension. This can prevent it from falling freely at greater angles compared to other heavier extensions. Shooters can easily get around this by pushing their magazines at more vertical angles, which they should be doing anyway.
I like the Arredondo Glock magazine extension. They strike a perfect balance between competition, duty and daily performance. Reliability combined with excellent form and weight factors. If you need to select an extension as the "do everything" option, do so.
